I knew I could never be fully prepared for the goodbyes, the letting goes, the breath-holding, the trust-giving required of loving an almost-grown child. When I dropped her off for her first day of high school last month, that it is what she did she stopped to look behind. And I sank. There she goes, I thought as I hoped and prayed I’d given her what she needed to navigate those long hallways and pressure-filled corridors.

I sat with my graphic designer for 2 days straight until we came up with this design. I drove back to SD and was ready for day 2. By the end of the day we were once again sold out. I was exhausted but euphoric about the success. I once again drove back, printed all night and returned in the morning for the final day.
